Search Committee Support

SEARCH COMMITTEE TRAINING

To support Rice's efforts to ensure the diversity of the recruitment process, the Office of Faculty Development (OFD) meets with each search committee to discuss their search. Linked below is the OFD's guide on leading practices for faculty searches.

EXTERNAL JOB BOARDS (PIPELINE)

The Chronicle of Higher Education: As of July 1, 2022, the OFD hosts an unlimited jobs posting subscription to The Chronicle of Higher Education's Job Board. Job postings in Interfolio will automatically post to the Chronicle's site. The OFD will add open positions on mathjobs.org. If departments wish to change the format of a job posting or pay for additional enhancements, please contact Julia Amborski.

Higher Education Recruitment Consortium (HERC) is a non-profit consortium of over 700 colleges, universities, hospitals, research labs, government agencies, and related non- and for-profit organizations. Consortium members share a commitment to hiring diverse and talented faculty, staff, and executives. As part of the South Central Texas HERC, Rice and other member institutions work to strategically address top recruitment priorities. Here Rice has access to leading regional & national higher education jobs websites, diverse job seeker pools & a network of colleagues at nearby campuses who collaborate on dual-career hiring issues. Any postings set up in Interfolio, will, as a default, also post to the HERC website.

AcademicJobsOnline is an automated job/program application system created and currently operated by the Department of Mathematics of Duke University. AcademicJobsOnline expands the service of the highly successful mathjobs.org of the American Mathematical Society, making it available to all other employers (academic, industrial or research) searching for job candidates with advanced degrees in other disciplines. The Office of Faculty Development posts all STEM T/TT faculty positions on this site and has access to a database of job candidates. If you’d like to search for candidates on AcademicJobsOnline please contact Julia Amborski.

All postings in iO are automatically posted on Work In Texas, as part of Rice's compliance as a federal contractor.
