The CWOVC invites you to join our faculty panelists from Natural Sciences, Engineering, and Humanities for a conversation about simple, but insightful visual assignments that enrich comprehension without requiring significant time or advanced skills. Panelists Kathy Matthews (biosciences), Paul Hand (computational and applied mathematics), and Lina Dib (Program in Writing & Communication) will share time-tested activities from their own classrooms. In addition to viewing sample assignments, they will discuss how such assignments can be used to
- condense and synthesize course content,
- teach visual communication skills,
- experiment with visual approaches to problem-solving,
- reveal student thinking and learning processes.
